Once upon a time, there was…
A young girl standing on her family’s mountain homestead, gazing out over the Eagle River Valley, dreaming of capturing its beauty through art and one day creating a mountain retreat of her own.
And a boy, exploring the backwoods of Minnesota, fishing, hunting, and imagining a life deeply connected to nature, where he could live off the land.
As the years passed, those childhood dreams evolved into a shared vision. Teal Sky Heller became an electrical utility designer, where she learned the art of developing Alaskan subdivisions and infrastructure. Her passion for helping others find their own piece of Alaska led her to become a Realtor, guiding people to discover and create unique Alaskan homes.
Meanwhile, Russ Carpenter spent over 30 years shaping Alaska’s landscape. As a general contractor, he built everything from homes to industrial infrastructure, working from Unalaska to the North Slope. He also played a key role in launching Alaska’s modular manufacturing plants, pushing innovation in construction across the state.
Together, they combined their expertise, passion, and love for the Alaskan wilderness to create BlueWater BaseCamp—a place where luxury meets adventure, inspired by the stunning colors of Eklutna Lake.
More than just a boutique mountain retreat, BlueWater BaseCamp is a dream realized—a sanctuary for relaxation, community, and exploration, nestled in the mountains above Anchorage, Alaska.
Whether you're looking for a peaceful getaway, an unforgettable adventure, a celebration of love or a place to reconnect with nature, we invite you to experience the dream we built from the ground up.
Welcome to BlueWater BaseCamp.
