Perfect for a leisurely stroll along the lake or the start of an amazing adventure up Bold Peak or all the way back to the Eklutna Glacier feeding Eklutna Lake, the options are endless. The Eklutna Lake trail is perfect for walking, biking, skiing in winter or atv’s on select days. Sunday through Wednesday the trail is open to motorized traffic. The rest of the week you can enjoy the quiet of the trail as it travels the length of the lake, approximately 13 miles to the camping area at the far end of the lake. The trail starts about 5 min from BWBC from the day use parking lot at the Eklutna Lake Campground. As with all hiking in Alaska, we highly recommend you take bear spray and make lots of noise as you hike no matter where you go.
